Aware of the importance that agriculture has, for the future economic and social development in Calabria, a group of companies, for producing and processing, was established in a syndicate which has promoted a project in the field of figs.

The FICO aggregates dozens of companies and bodies that revolve around the galaxy of fig cultivation, processing of the product, its distribution, and use environmentally friendly waste processing.

Thanks to the peculiarities of the production of dried figs in the province of Cosenza, the Consortium will take care of the promotion and recognition of D.O.P.

All was through a detailed strategic plan that starts from the upgrading and modernization of the company, training and staff skills, introduction of new technologies, especially information technology, implementation of corporate image, starting from the mark, to finish the certification of quality in accordance with EU directives and international. It is a project with the ambition to achieve the production of high quality standards that are compatible with the new healthy bodies and are especially suited to the market in respect of a tradition of thousands of years.

The big project, which involves strong and qualified partners, with great effort, aimed to give impetus in a specific section and bring ideas and operations. With that purpose all energies will be directed to develop a synergistic and harmonious economic and social territory where the FICO work, looking to European and international markets.
